Job Description

The Lease Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accounting, reporting, and compliance of the company's expense lease portfolio in accordance with ASC 842. This role manages the day‑to‑day process, including review of lease agreements, preparation and review of journal entries and reconciliations, and maintenance of the lease accounting system. The supervisor partners closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure complete and accurate lease data.

This position also supports technical accounting analysis, process improvement initiatives, and staff development within the lease accounting function.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee a combination of professional and non‑professional accounting staff
  • Review account reconciliations and journal entries ensuring compliance with existing controls, policies and procedures and GAAP
  • Coordinate and review the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual accounting processes to accurately record transactions
  • Understand the requirements and implementation of US GAAP
  • Oversee and review the work and monthly account reconciliations performed by team members
  • Be familiar with monthly and quarterly financial reports, including SEC filings and applicable disclosures
  • Prepare and/or review monthly deliverables, such as roll‑forward schedules, financial reporting support schedules, and legal/regulatory reporting

  • Guide and root for assigned team and accurately assess performance, provide support, training, mentoring and development to staff on an ongoing basis to ensure the department performs at a maximum performance level
  • Assist the manager in developing and leading regular training sessions to enhance department performance
  • Assist the manager in creating and implementing a strategic vision
  • Assist staff in problem resolution and escalation to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Assist in promoting change management as the need arises
  • Provide the manager with monthly metrics of assigned team, noting key achievements and areas needing improvement. Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Proactively provide feedback to leadership on people, process, technology and compliance
  • Coordinate the production of documents in response to requests from internal auditors, independent auditors, properties, and others, as necessary
  • Perform monthly analysis of applicable financial statement accounts for senior leadership
  • Lead projects from end to end
  • Perform other job‑related duties as requested
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of accounting related experience
  • At least 1+ year of supervisor experience
  • BA/BS degree in accounting or related degree
  • Prefer CPA or advanced degree
  • Prefer gaming and/or entertainment industry experience
  • Prior experience with Oracle or similar ERP system

  • Understanding of Internal Control over Financial Report (ICFR), GAAP and SOX requirements
  • Must have intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
  • Project management experience leading projects from start to completion
  • Ability to appropriately manage confidential information
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business
