Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• safeguards Intermountain Health's assets through monthly accounting operations and internal controls
• ensures accurate and compliant financial reporting
• responsible for understanding account balances, completing reconciliations, performing data analysis and supporting the companies assigned to their team and manager
• understands and explains all aspects of the accounting process
• performs routine and non-routine accounting tasks requiring in-depth analysis
• acts as an accounting technical resource to others
• provides expertise in applying generally accepted accounting principles to all phases of accounting operations
• responsible for in-depth analysis of accounting tasks, critical accounting entries and financial statement review
• may have responsibility for the month-end close of a company
• may act as a mentor to other members of accounting
• may have responsibility for training, coordinating, and reviewing work of others
• may be a project lead or perform supervisory duties

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
• Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
• Demonstrated progressive accounting experience.
• Master’s of Accountancy or Business Administration is preferred.
• CPA license is preferred.
• Strong experience with healthcare accounting preferred.
• Strong experience with analytics and advanced excel preferred.
