AR Accountant

Description

A growing organization is seeking an AR Accountant to join its accounting team in an in‑office role. This AR Accountant position plays a critical role in daily accounting operations, including cash activity, reconciliations, and cross‑department coordination. This is a contract to potential permanent opportunity.

AR Accountant's Responsibilities:

+ Post and track daily cash activity and prepare journal entries

+ Prepare daily and month‑end reconciliations

+ Coordinate with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams

+ Reconcile cash receipts from domestic and foreign sister companies

+ Maintain prepaid expense schedules and related journal entries

+ Administer travel and expense compliance and approval processes

+ Prepare customer invoices and AR billings

+ Support sales and use tax preparation and filings across multiple states and foreign jurisdictions

+ Process online tax payments for various jurisdictions

+ Perform general ledger reconciliations

+ Compile financial data for internal reporting requests

+ Act as a go‑to resource for accounting questions and issue resolution

+ Assist with additional accounting duties as needed

Requirements - At least 1 year of accounting experience in a staff accountant, AR accountant, or similar role

- Working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger activity, and month-end close processes

- Experience performing cash applications, daily cash reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations

- Familiarity with accounts receivable, billing, prepaid expenses, and cross-functional coordination with accounts payable

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

- Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and problem-solving skills

- Comfortable communicating with internal teams and affiliate or intercompany contacts

- Proficiency with standard accounting systems and spreadsheet tools for reporting and reconciliation work
