About Qlay Co.

Qlay Co. is the company behind the Spy Ninjas brand, digital content operations, licensing, merchandise, and related business ventures. As the company continues to grow across multiple entities, revenue streams, and operating divisions, we are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to strengthen our accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal processes.

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting functions, support accurate monthly financial reporting, and help maintain strong accounting controls across multiple entities. This role requires hands‑on experience with multi‑entity accounting, accrual‑based financials, and Net Suite.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working in a growing business environment, and able to partner with leadership to provide timely and useful financial information. Experience with Power BI, Looker, or similar reporting tools is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities.
  • Prepare and review accrual‑based financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger activity in Net Suite, including intercompany transactions, allocations, and entity‑level reporting.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and expense coding.
  • Support revenue recognition, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other accrual accounting areas.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for management, including variance analysis and explanations.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and department‑level financial tracking.
  • Maintain and improve accounting processes, policies, documentation, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with outside tax preparers, auditors, payroll providers, insurance brokers, and other external partners as needed.
  • Support compliance‑related reporting, tax filings, business registrations, and other finance/accounting requirements.
  • Help improve reporting dashboards and financial visibility using tools such as Power BI, Looker, Excel, or Net Suite reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, improve accuracy, and increase reporting efficiency.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, including performance management and training.
Requirements Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a senior accountant, accounting manager, or similar role.
  • Strong experience with multi‑entity accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting, month‑end close, reconciliations, and GAAP‑based financial reporting.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize competing tasks, and maintain accuracy in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with both accounting and non‑accounting stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Net Suite management.
  • Experience with Power BI, Looker, Tableau, or similar reporting/business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with entertainment, media, licensing, retail, e‑commerce, hospitality, or multi‑location operations.
  • Experience building or improving accounting processes in a growing company.
  • Experience with intercompany accounting, consolidated reporting, and entity‑level profitability tracking.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The right candidate will be both strategic and hands‑on. They should be comfortable owning the details of the accounting close while also helping leadership understand the financial story behind the numbers. This person should enjoy improving processes, creating better reporting, and supporting a business with multiple entities and evolving operations.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
