As a Manager, Administrator & Obligor Accounting, you will play a key role in the planning and overseeing of the administrator/obligor accounting activities in areas such as process improvement, quality assurance, and accounting/reporting operations.
This position will be pivotal in ensuring that our processes are well controlled, scalable and designed to meet our clients’ needs. In this role you will develop, implement, and maintain strategies to improve operations efficiency and will be responsible for overall department management and oversite. Additionally, you will provide knowledge and expertise in full-cycle general ledger accounting and ensure the adequacy of accounting practices and policies related to handling funds, managing internal controls, government, and regulatory reporting in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
This role will report to Director AOI accounting and work closely with the AO operational/financial leadership and others in the organization in analysis and reconciliation of accounts and in development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls. In addition, the role will directly lead a team of staff accountants in preparing and overseeing the monthly AO financial processes and statement preparation.

What You’ll Accomplish With Us- Manage direct reports through planning, directing, and organizing departmental duties. Lead the team through continuous process improvement
- Manage the monthly financial close process for administrators and obligors, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries and preliminary/final AO company financial statements
- Monitor financial activity to identify and explain unusual activity or trends in income, expenses, assets, or liabilities as reflected in the general ledger.
- Assist the Director, AOI in the sales reporting process/variance analysis including gross written premiums, cancellations, unearned premium reserves, administration fees, and underwriting fees (CLIP)
- Ensure compliance and timely completion of account reconciliations as reviewer for the team. Ensure that reconciliations are appropriately assigned commensurate with the team’s workloads and skillset
- Assist in the development and reporting of relevant KPIs and metrics to optimize the performance and success of the team
- Responsible for accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements and has ultimate authority over classification and booking of all transactions
- Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud
- Is known for their ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Stands out for their effective problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues and support continuous improvement
- Demonstrates strong ability to present financial data to senior leaders and business clients
- Is recognized for their ability to build relationships with key stakeholders within Operations, Sales, Accounting, and other areas
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Has 5-7 years of accounting work experience with 3 years of people management
- Experience with in the insurance or service contract industry required, F&I industry preferred
- Experience in financial systems required (Net Suite, SAP, Blackline, Great Plains, etc.)
