Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial reports, general ledger records, and supporting account research and analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in preparing consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
- Ability to analyze information and summarize findings for management presentation.
- Maintain and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances.
- Prepare and post journal entries to appropriately adjust P&L and balance sheet accounts.
- Develop and implement accounting procedures focused on process improvement and accounting transformation by evaluating current workflows and recommending enhancements.
- Analyze financial statements to identify and recommend appropriate accruals and adjustments.
- Respond to accounting and financial inquiries by researching, interpreting, and clearly communicating data.
- Perform bank and cash reconciliations, including cash accounts, credit cards, and loan balances.
- Provide data, documentation, and support to external auditors during audits and reviews.
- Review and analyze inventory transactions, communicating insights and variances to senior management.
- Support additional duties and special projects as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree required in Accounting is required.
- 3-5 years of experience in finance or related field
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and can establish priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner and exercise discretion.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, required.
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.) as well as accounting software.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to physically sit at a desk for long periods, operate a computer, and listen/speak clearly on the phone and in-person.
