Compliance​/Audit Investigator

The Compliance/Audit Investigator 2 position in the Nevada Department of Business and Industry's Workers' Compensation Section investigates benefit penalty complaints, non-compliance cases, and conducts audits of employers and insurers. The role involves calculating workers' compensation benefits and penalties, preparing detailed investigative reports, and working closely with legal counsel on litigious matters. This is a journey-level position requiring knowledge of accounting, investigative principles, and relevant state and federal laws.

• Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, business management, accounting, or related field plus two years of professional investigative, auditing, or program-related experience
• Four years of experience (with two years in professional investigative/auditing role) if no bachelor's degree
• Two years of experience as a Compliance/Audit Investigator I in Nevada State service
• Working knowledge of accounting procedures, business practices, and investigative principles
• Ability to analyze statutes and regulations, conduct interviews, review business records, and prepare comprehensive investigative reports
