The Manager, General Ledger Accounting, is responsible for managing the general ledger accounting function and supporting an accurate, timely, and well‑controlled monthly, quarterly, and annual close. This role oversees key close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, close calendar execution, and related internal controls. The position partners closely with Accounting and Finance leadership and cross‑functional teams to improve close quality, strengthen processes, support audit requirements, and ensure consistent application of U.S. GAAP across assigned accounting areas.
Position Responsibilities:- Coordinate preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close calendar, working closely with AP, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Inventory/Cost Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Tax, Treasury, SEC Reporting, and Operations.
- Lead general ledger close activities in accordance with the close calendar, ensuring assigned tasks are completed accurately, timely, and with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Review, approve, and/or prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and internal control documentation for assigned accounting areas.
- Oversee timely resolution of open items in reconciliations, including follow‑up with business partners and accounting work streams as needed.
- Analyze financial results and account activity to identify trends, classification issues, unusual transactions, or potential close matters requiring follow‑up.
- Partner with AP, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Inventory/Cost Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Operations to support complete and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over assigned accounting areas, including SOX control execution, review evidence, segregation of duties, and timely remediation of control or process issues.
- Support internal and external audit requests by providing schedules, reconciliations, explanations, and other documentation in a clear and timely manner.
