POSITION OVERVIEW
The Hospitality Accounting Manager is responsible for the daily completion of all Hospitality audits, comp audits, and daily issuance of the flash and DOR. This position will lead the month-end closing process for the Hospitality Accounting team in accordance with GAAP, and also drive the comp policy, Hospitality cash policy, and POS policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Responsible for establishing Hospitality revenue policies, procedures, auditing functions, and revenue accounting
- Establish and oversee all credit card reconciliation processes
- Ensure compliance with all federal regulatory requirements, including Title 26 and tax reporting
- Prepare and ensure the accuracy of the Hospitality audit revenue reporting
- Establish, maintain, and audit all Hospitality cash handling operations, including performing cash over/shorts and investigations
- Review monthly financial statements and compile review comments for follow-up
- Ensure compliance with Minimum Internal Control Standards, Standards of Operation and Management, Sarbanes Oxley, and Bank Secrecy Act reporting requirements
- Review operational results for inconsistencies and communicate recommended improvements
- Prepare, review, and distribute all internal daily and monthly financial reports
- Ensure the timely and accurate monthly and annual closing of the general ledger
- Maintain the general ledger chart of accounts and underlying financial reporting
- Work with General Ledger Accounting to post and reconcile banking clearing accounts by posting settlements accurately and timely
- Review and enforce internal accounting controls and assurance of compliance with SOX
- Facilitate external and internal audits as needed to complete regulatory and operational audits
- Ensure the timely remittance and filing of taxes as they relate to liquor, tobacco, lodging, and sale and use tax

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three (3) years of experience in hotel accounting and audit
- Experience working in a leadership position for a large-scale, luxury resort is preferred Direct experience in GAAP financial statement preparation
- Strong operational knowledge within the Hospitality and/or Gaming industry preferred
- Strong project management experience and process improvement
- Experience in working with all levels of management, including executives and consulting with various departments
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, innovative, flexible, and task-oriented, and can work independently with minimal direction
- Must be flexible, able to handle multiple tasks, and establish priorities effectively
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Ability to exercise professional discretion and judgment
- Ability to gather, synthesize, and analyze data and draw logical conclusions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, such as technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
