Collections Specialist

Description

Our client is seeking an experienced B2B Collections Specialist for a short-term project focused on high-volume B2B collections. The Collections Specialist will be responsible for contacting customers regarding past-due balances, securing payment commitments, following up on outstanding invoices, and helping reduce a significant portfolio of aged receivables. This role is heavily focused on collections and is ideal for someone who enjoys working through aging reports, conducting B2B collections outreach, and driving results.

The Collections Specialist will work independently to prioritize accounts, perform consistent collection follow-up by phone and email, document collection activity, and partner with the accounting team to maximize cash recovery. The ideal candidate is assertive, professional, and persistent, with the ability to build rapport while holding customers accountable for payment. This position requires someone who is comfortable handling challenging collections conversations, managing a high volume of outreach, and producing results with minimal supervision.

Must be able to quickly assess aging accounts, develop an effective collection strategy, and contribute immediately during this project.

Requirements

+ 2+ years of B2B collections experience

+ Strong accounts receivable and collections background

+ Experience reviewing and managing aging reports

+ Comfortable making high-volume outbound collection calls

+ Ability to professionally handle difficult payment conversations

+ Strong follow-up and negotiation skills

+ Excellent communication and customer service abilities

+ Highly organized and able to work independently

+

Experience with Quick Books Online, Sage, or similar ERP/accounting systems preferred

+ Available for a short-term, project-based assignment

+ Proven ability to drive results and recover outstanding balances through effective B2B collections efforts

+ Assertive, persistent, and results-oriented personality toward collections success
