Financial Operations Lead

Position Type: Contract-to-Hire/Direct Hire

Target Compensation: $55 to $65 per hour or $120 - $135k annually + comprehensive benefits

A premier, well-established travel and tourism company headquartered in Las Vegas is seeking a hands-on, growth-minded Financial Operations Lead. This may be a consulting role to start with the opportunity to get hired by our client. However our client will consider direct hire candidates as well.

Our client's accounting department is entering an exciting phase of modernization and automation. They are preparing to transition off their legacy ERP system and streamline core financial processes. They need a technical, adaptable accounting professional who thrives in the operational details, loves building modern processes, and to assist with the day-to-day accounting functions while the Controller drives an upcoming ERP discovery and implementation phase.

This role offers immediate ownership of critical day-to-day accounting functions, while assisting the Controller with the implementation phase.

• ERP Discovery & Implementation: Partner closely with Controller to roll out a new mid-market ERP system (evaluating options such as Acumatica, Net Suite, and Dynamics 365 Business Central) to replace their legacy system.
• Process Documentation & Automation: Shadow daily accounting workflows, document end-to-end month-end checklists, and leverage modern automation tools/AI features to streamline heavy manual processes (e.g., credit card reconciliations across 70+ users, AP/AR workflows).
• Technical & General Ledger Accounting: Perform high-level balance sheet reconciliations, assist with financial statement preparation, and maintain general ledger integrity.
• Hands-On Team Support: Serve as a true operational collaborator—willing to pitch in on foundational accounting tasks (AP, AR, or data entry) when needed to meet strict monthly deadlines or support team absences.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with department leaders and external auditors to gather reporting data and ensure tax/regulatory compliance.

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Systems & ERP Expertise: Proven hands-on experience participating in mid-market ERP system implementations or major data conversions. Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, Acumatica, Net Suite, Business Central or similar is strongly preferred.
