Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Office Assistant in Las Vegas, Nevada. The successful candidate will perform general clerical functions such as filing, sorting mail, answering telephone, photocopying, and other office related procedures. The role involves solving routine problems to complete specific tasks, applying narrow, routine and standard office methods, and greeting visitors as needed.
Job Responsibilities- Clerical Support – performs a variety of general clerical functions under direct supervision, including filing, data entry, typing, faxing, preparing routine forms, simple tabulations, reviewing forms for accuracy and completeness, photocopying, and assembling materials.
- Mail Distribution – receives, sorts, screens mail, and distributes it to the appropriate parties as instructed.
- Filing – sorts, matches, and files data in alphabetical, numeric, or subject order as required; maintains records and logs of the office filing and storage system to ensure retrieval and documents file movement.
- Reception/Public Contact – provides backup support for the reception area, refers non‑routine calls, issues, and questions to a supervisor, provides routine information, greets visitors, answers inquiries, and routes messages.
- Word Processing/Typing – prepares simple memoranda, letters, labels, routine manuscripts, correspondence, performs data entry, and simple tabulations for report development; reviews work for accuracy and completeness.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent; no previous work experience required. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Knowledge of general/standard clerical office practices. Ability to use standard office equipment (copy machine, multi‑line telephone, fax machine). Basic computer skills using Microsoft applications and ability to type, perform straight data entry, and navigate the Web. Ability to listen and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to multi‑task, pay attention to details, and follow assignments through completion. Light, accurate keyboarding skills required—score of at least 35 words per minute on the typing assessment administered prior to onboarding.
One year of work experience, preferably in an office or related setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
