ROLE of the POSITIONThe UNLV Logistics Services department is looking for a skilled Supply Tech, Supervisor 1, to oversee daily inbound and outbound shipping operations. Reporting to the Director of Delivery Services, the successful candidate will provide operational and fiscal leadership for the Shipping & Receiving and Mail Services units. In this role, the incumbent will manage a regional warehouse facility supporting shipping logistics across UNLV’s main and satellite campuses.
ResponsibilitiesPrimary duties include directing the university's receipt, inventory, storage, issuance, shipment, recordkeeping, and property control for a wide range of institutional assets. Core responsibilities also encompass:
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, fire, and security standards.
- Engaging in complex purchasing operations.
- Drafting and recommending operational policies and procedures.
- Scheduling, training, supervising, and evaluating staff, along with performing standard personnel management duties.
Additionally, the Supervisor will coordinate with other Delivery Services divisions to maintain the seamless transfer of goods, equipment, and information. An ideal candidate will exhibit strong attention to detail, maintain confidentiality, possess a professional demeanor, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Minimum QualificationsThree or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties with a minimum of one-year supervisory experience preferred and graduation from high school or equivalent education.
Preferred QualificationsA strong background in inventory and asset management, warehouse operations, package or mail delivery, as well as previous experience developing and overseeing an operational budget.

SALARYGrade 29, Step 1, salary $50,153.76.
In accordance with Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 284.170, initial appointments to classified positions typically begin at Step 1 of the assigned grade. A "Step" refers to the specific rate of pay within a grade, as determined by the Division of Human Resources.
