Audio-Visual Supervisor

As an Audio-Visual Supervisor, you'll lead venue audio-visual staff to ensure exceptional technical execution for a multi-experiential live music venue, bar, and restaurant. You'll support Lounge Tech scheduling, payroll administration, advance logistics for weekly AV operations, and oversee production support for performances and events. Reports to Manager Production.

Serve as shift lead and onsite audio-visual point-of-contact for equipment load-in, set-up, tear down, and load-out for regular music performances and events

Oversee production for performances and events, coordinating with artists, venue leadership, technical services staff, and event stakeholders to ensure seamless execution. Manage event logistics, equipment rentals, production requirements, and client meetings.

Create weekly and monthly union Lounge Technician schedules, subject to Production Manager approval, ensuring appropriate coverage, labor utilization, and operational readiness. Oversee operational, labor, and capital invoice processing, union payroll administration, and related departmental administrative functions.

Review production requirements, maintain show advance documentation, and confirm performance information to ensure technical readiness, accurate event execution, and successful support of house bands and visiting artists.

Assist with the development of event production budgets, labor estimates, settlement recaps, and budget tracking. Support the processing of operational, labor, and capital invoices and related administrative functions.

Ensure that all equipment is used safely, in accordance with proper industry standards, from load in through load-out. Lead technical staff in preventative maintenance and repair of audio/visual/lighting equipment and media equipment.

Maintain operational knowledge of current production technologies and ensure staff are trained on equipment, procedures, safety standards, and brand expectations.

Partner with Technical Services, IT, vendors, and venue leadership to support production requirements, venue technology systems, and operational initiatives. Assist with project timelines, budgets, and execution of assigned capital upgrades.

Participate in recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and developing technical staff.

Develop and maintain productive relationships with artists, production vendors, and service providers to support successful events and venue operations. Maintain vendor documentation, including required certificates of insurance and compliance records.

Communicate and uphold corporate policies, safety and security procedures, and brand SOPs. Promptly report accidents, facility issues, or unsafe conditions to management

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required

Degree in Production, Media, or related field preferred

Experience

5+ years' experience in production services in a national touring and/or house theatrical production position

Experience managing union technical staff, union labor settlements, preparing production budgets and settlements, advancing shows, supervising and scheduling technical staff, overseeing equipment inventory, and coordinating production transportation logistics

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills

Working knowledge of music, acoustics, stage lighting, and video is required

Ability to interface with management and clients

Licenses / Certifications

OSHA 10-Hour General Industry training certification required within 120 days of hire

Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record required

This position requires a pre-employment drug screening (4-panel: phencyclidine, cocaine, amphetamines, and opiates).

Physical Requirements

Speak and hear to communicate and use both near and far vision. Frequently sit with some walking and standing. Occasionally climb, sit, kneel, bend, step up/down and reach above shoulder. Frequently lift/carry up to 5 lbs. Occasionally lift/carry over 50 lbs. Continually use gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills for computer use.

Entertainment environments, indoors and outdoors, with large crowds and elevated noise levels.
