Position Overview:As an Underground Utilities Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing underground utility construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires expertise in overseeing the planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of utility infrastructure projects, including paving, concrete, gas, power, and telecommunications systems. Your key responsibilities will include managing project teams, ensuring compliance with safety standards, coordinating with the Construction Manager and Superintendent, and maintaining client relationships.
You will be an essential part of our team, helping to drive the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget. This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and the chance to contribute to impactful construction projects.
- Lead all phases of underground utility construction projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, permitting and execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and adjust timelines as needed to accommodate changes and challenges.
- Visit project sites to gather data and assess conditions that may impact project timelines.
- Work closely with the Construction Manager and Superintendents to gather necessary information and clarify project details.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to senior management and clients, addressing challenges and solutions to maintain transparency and project alignment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors and colleagues.
- Familiarity with asphalt and concrete materials, construction processes, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to work collaboratively within a team and assist others as needed.
- Understanding the importance of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
