Chief Estimator – Concrete

A Chief Estimator at All 5’s Construction will lead estimating and preconstruction logistics for self‑perform concrete projects across Las Vegas, NV, Phoenix, AZ, and Southern California. The role coordinates with Operations to ensure accurate, timely estimates and supports project delivery from pre‑construction through completion.

Responsibilities
  • Delegate and review all contract documents including structural, architectural, civil, landscape, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical plans along with specifications and soil reports.
  • Oversee and/or prepare quantity surveys for concrete and related items.
  • Review quotations for concrete strengths and from form suppliers, coordinating with Operations team on project requirements.
  • Develop Concrete General Conditions and General Requirements in partnership with Operations and Project Lead Estimator.
  • Contact lumber suppliers, review quotations for current lumber and plywood pricing.
  • Evaluate equipment quotations from crane and concrete pumping vendors.
  • Participate in Operations meetings to review preliminary estimates and discuss production rates and formwork systems.
  • Review the concrete estimate—including man‑hours, labor production, equipment production, materials, and subcontractor pricing—with the Vice President of All 5’s Construction.
  • Monitor weekly labor reports and communicate with Operations to understand cause of variances from the estimate.
  • Review production reports on various concrete tasks from Lead Estimators.
  • Lead required inter‑departmental meetings and hand‑offs for projects.
  • Maintain and build solid working relationships with clients, peers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Stay apprised of new construction systems and methods as the concrete industry evolves.
  • Attend the Annual World of Concrete and other industry forums to bring innovation into the company.
  • Encourage and assess new purchasing opportunities from the Estimating team to ensure continued modernization.
  • Train and mentor employees seeking to expand their knowledge and advance their careers.
Qualifications & Expectations
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant estimating experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent trade experience.
  • Ability and experience to perform quality 2‑D and 3‑D surveys.
  • Proficiency in maintaining and using databases for concrete-related estimates.
  • Outgoing, welcoming presence and eagerness to represent the company.
  • Adaptive technical knowledge to meet the industry’s changing needs.
  • Exempt position; not eligible for overtime pay.
  • Periodic travel may be required.
  • Typical workday: 5–8 hours sitting and 1–4 hours standing/walking; occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to access and navigate offices and job sites.
