Position Summary
Under the direction of the Project Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent is directly responsible for coordinating and supervising the assigned on‑site construction activities in accordance with project documents, safety, and schedule.
Essential Functions Statements Schedule- Manage daily production schedules and maintain documentation, field notes, punch lists, hot lists, lessons learned, etc.
- Assist with the scheduling and coordination of subcontractors and materials.
- Assist the Project Superintendent in maintaining and updating schedule documents, scheduling inspections, and coordinating subcontractors.
- Schedule specifically assigned trades/subs under supervision of the Project Superintendent.
- Supervise assigned construction activities to ensure project is constructed per design and commitments while maintaining professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Perform frequent and ongoing review of plans, contract scopes, submittals, RFIs, etc.
- Take sole ownership and responsibility for assigned duties and ensure quality control.
- Enforce safety, clean‑up, and risk management.
- Ensure OSHA and all related safety code compliance.
- Report any accidents to the main office immediately and prepare an accident report.
- Inspect sites for safety hazards and notify subcontractors or authorities of violations.
- Assist the Project Superintendent with the management of materials purchased by The NRP Group.
- Properly schedule, receive, and safely store materials purchased by The NRP Group.
- Assist in sequencing of field operations, staging of materials and resources.
- Help manage the field office, maintain hard files, electronic files, and documentation.
- Manage emails and Outlook folders, hard copy files, etc.
- Assist the Project Superintendent with managing private consultant reports, addressing deficiencies, and closing all open items.
- Work with municipalities and utility providers for service installation and inspections.
- Write and execute punch lists, re‑walk the list(s), and verify 100% completion.
- Communicate with the Project Superintendent daily regarding project status and any arising problems.
- High school diploma.
- Education in construction or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Graduated from high school.
- Knowledge of site work, utility infrastructure, structural building, mechanical, and interior finishes.
- Minimum of 2 years managing the construction of multi‑family projects with a stable employment history and proven track record.
- Knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective oral communication and writing skills.
- Knowledge of construction principles and techniques.
- Ability to problem‑solve, think forward, and plan ahead.
