Overview

Our client is a well-established multi-family HVAC contractor with over 50 years of experience in the construction industry. They are recognized for delivering high-quality HVAC installations on multi-family residential projects while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, workmanship, and customer satisfaction. They are seeking an experienced HVAC Estimating Manager (or Senior HVAC Estimator) to lead their estimating team and oversee the estimating process for new construction multi-family projects.

This individual will prepare accurate cost estimates, manage bid schedules, coordinate with vendors and clients, and support project teams from preconstruction through project handoff.

• Prepare accurate HVAC estimates for multi-family new construction projects.
• Review construction drawings, perform material takeoffs, and develop project pricing.
• Download and review project plans and enter data into estimating software.
• Request, track, and manage vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare detailed project proposals and submit bids to clients.
• Communicate with clients regarding project scope, timelines, and bid requirements.
• Manage the estimating calendar to ensure all bids are completed and submitted on time.
• Support the project management team during project handoff and submittal preparation.
• Review project contracts and help verify that the scope of work is complete and accurate.
• Develop project budgets and provide cost information to the operations and project management teams.
• Maintain organized project documentation throughout the bidding process.

• Minimum 5 years of HVAC estimating experience, preferably in multi-family new construction (or a closely related construction trade).
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing detailed project estimates.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam.
• Experience using project management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or Plan Grid.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet tight bid deadlines.
