Position SummaryThe Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed construction estimates with minimal supervision. This role requires reviewing project documents, coordinating with subcontractors, evaluating bids, preparing budgets, and supporting project turnover to the construction management team.
Key Responsibilities- Review project drawings, specifications, and conceptual plans.
- Verify drawings against existing site conditions.
- Determine and define the scope of work required for each trade.
- Solicit bids from qualified subcontractors.
- Review plans and specifications for completeness, inconsistencies, and conflicts.
- Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) with project consultants.
- Distribute bid documents, addenda, RFIs, and related project information to subcontractors.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop material summaries.
- Analyze and compare subcontractor proposals for completeness and compliance.
- Prepare project budgets and cost estimates.
- Develop comprehensive proposals, including inclusions, exclusions, clarifications, and alternates.
- Prepare project turnover packages and participate in turnover meetings after project award.
- Support Project Management with follow-up budgeting requests.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of construction estimating experience.
- Experience with Tilt-Up construction or Medical Office Building projects is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of estimating processes and construction procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities with the capability to manage multiple project responsibilities.

- Bid Mail
- Bluebeam
- LEED certification is a plus.
- BIM experience is a plus.
