Position Construction Superintendent or Quality Control Manager

Description
Armitage Architecture Inc. (Armitage) provides multidisciplinary engineering, construction management, and professional services for federal, commercial, and private sector clients. We are seeking an experienced construction professional who can serve as either a Site Superintendent or Quality Control Manager (QCM) for federal construction projects.
Depending on project size and staffing needs, you will perform as either the Site Superintendent, Site Safety & Health Officer or Quality Control Manager
, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements and quality standards.
Position Requirements
Site Superintendent
- Lead daily construction operations and coordinate subcontractors, field staff, and project teams.
- Manage project schedules, site logistics, labor, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure compliance with EM 385 1-1 safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Direct preparation of site‑specific safety plans.
- Ensure company employees and subcontractors comply with safety plans.
- Ensure proper trainings have been completed or assigned for each project.
- Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
- Conduct project meetings and support quality control efforts.
- Mentor field personnel and maintain a productive and safe jobsite.
Quality Control Manager (QCM)
- Administer the Contractor Quality Control (CQC) program.
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and testing requirements.
- Perform inspections and document compliance with contract requirements.
- Identify and resolve deficiencies while maintaining project schedules.
- Prepare daily QC reports and maintain project quality documentation.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and client communication through project completion.
Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management or related civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical field with Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role for projects over $1M;
OR a minimum of 7 years of experience in civil, structural, mechanical or electrical field construction with 5 years as a QC Manager in lieu of degree. - QCM person must have Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or Architectural license
- U.S. Corp of Engineers or Air Force base construction project experience
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Current CMQ-C Certification
- Current OSHA 30 Certification
- Experienced with EM 385 1-1 compliance
- HAZWOPER 40, a big plus
- Ability to pass all background checks and drug screenings required for access to federal facilities.
