Job Description

Turner & Townsend
are seeking an experienced
Senior MEP Cost Manager
to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide detailed andaccuratecost reviews for electrical systems and/or mechanical systems and present findings to the client and assist in price negotiations for construction projects, ensuring effective cost management and project success.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed andaccuratecost estimates for electrical systems in construction projects.
  • Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Reconcile changes andassistthe general contractor to ensure thattheir data is accurate.
  • Prepare written commentstothe general contractor’s submissions, including the executive summary.
  • Coordinate all sources of cost information for cost discussions and suppliers direct from NPA, subs, quantities from A/Es.
  • Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects. Complete timely,accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Participate effectively withpost-contract cost variances and thechange ofcontrol processes.
  • Reviewing contractor and subcontractor pricing and leading negotiations on behalf of the client to drive fair contract prices.
  • Display excellence in leadership and service deliver yon commissions is in line with the conditions of appointment
  • Be a role model that drives a one business culture that achieves great outcomes by striking the right balance for our people, clients, stakeholders, and society.
  • Review project plans and specifications todeterminethe scopeof work and required materials.
  • Analyze project requirements andprovidevalue engineering options.
  • Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering.
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Utilize industry-specific estimating software and tools to prepare estimates.
  • Provide estimating advice, guidance, and analysis to project stakeholders.
  • Develop andmaintainup-to-date knowledge of industry-specific estimating processes and methodologies.
  • Prepare formal estimating reports, including quantity, cost, escalation, and other assumptions and clarifications.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering their professional development and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying,engineeringor field related to construction.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a construction cost management role such as Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Cost Controls etc.
  • Experience providing conceptual estimating services and/or pre-construction services at a construction management or related firm.
  • Experience supporting large scale construction projects and programs
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering.
