Job Description
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transmission Line Construction Manager for our Power Constructors, Inc. (PCI) sector for our Las Vegas, Nevada office. This position will be primarily field based and may involve working at various locations in the client
20 9s service territory in Nevada. Be involved in projects with our Project Management team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
- Act as the Owner
20 9s representative in the project areas. - Oversee all aspects of the transmission facilities construction including interconnect, status reporting, owner-purchased material, safety monitoring, startup and commissioning, and project closeout.
- Manage the assigned project area to ensure compliance with budgetary, scheduling, and quality goals.
- Coordinate and report on the construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site.
- This is a field position and may require extensive travel. The successful candidate will have 15 or more years of proven field experience, be skilled at filling out daily and weekly reports, and monitor others
20 9 reports for accuracy and completeness. Proficiency in photo documentation, Word, and Excel is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor
20 9s degree in construction management or a closely related discipline, or demonstrated proven equivalent experience. - Minimum of 10+ years of experience in transmission operations, substation operations, construction, engineering, or equivalent education.
- Detailed knowledge and a proven record of successful transmission construction work, foundation installation, structure assembly and erection, wire stringing and sagging, and all aspects of transmission facilities; substation construction experience is preferred but not required.
- Develops, revises, and maintains construction schedules and detailed construction sequence documents to ensure facilities are constructed and operated in accordance with the Owner
20 9s design and specifications. - Construction management duties include verification of construction progress, change orders, and schedule management.
- Ability to read and review drawings and identify the required bill of materials.
- Effective communication on overall project status with multiple internal and external stakeholders to resolve construction and coordination issues.
- Prioritizes and reprioritizes multiple tasks to maintain project schedules.
- Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and Primavera P6.
- Must have a current and valid driver
20 9s license.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or equivalent credential.
- OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent health and safety training.
- Transmission construction experience; transmission outage planning or coordination; startup and commissioning.
- Work up to 12-hour days, up to 7 days a week if a project requires.
- Willing to travel and stay for a minimum of 6 weeks at a time for a project.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for up to 12 hours a day.
- Must wear company-provided PPE for the entire shift while onsite.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs or more at any given time and walk on average 3+ miles per day across rough terrain or unlevel surfaces.
- Ability to step in and out of a 3/4-ton pickup truck several times a day.
