* ** Turner & Townsend
** are seeking an experienced
** Senior MEP Cost Manager
** to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide detailed and accurate cost reviews for electrical systems and/or mechanical systems and present findings to the client and assist in price negotiations for construction projects, ensuring effective cost management and project success.
** Responsibilities: *
* + Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in construction projects.
+ Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
+ Reconcile changes and assist the general contractor to ensure that their data is accurate.
+ Prepare written comments to the general contractor's submissions, including the executive summary.
+ Coordinate all sources of cost information for cost discussions and suppliers direct from NPA, subs, quantities from A/Es.
+ Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects. Complete timely, accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
+ Participate effectively with post-contract cost variances and the change of control processes.
+ Reviewing contractor and subcontractor pricing and leading negotiations on behalf of the client to drive fair contract prices.
+ Display excellence in leadership and service delivery on commissions is in line with the conditions of appointment
+ Be a role model that drives a one business culture that achieves great outcomes by striking the right balance for our people, clients, stakeholders, and society.
+ Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required materials.
+ Analyze project requirements and provide value engineering options.
+ Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering.
+ Communicate and collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
+ Utilize industry-specific estimating software and tools to prepare estimates.
+ Provide estimating advice, guidance, and analysis to project stakeholders.
+ Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry-specific estimating processes and methodologies.
+ Prepare formal estimating reports, including quantity, cost, escalation, and other assumptions and clarifications.
+ Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering their professional development and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
+ SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
** Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
+ Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience
+ Experience in a construction cost management role such as Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Cost Controls etc.
+ Experience providing conceptual estimating services and/or pre-construction services at a construction management or related firm.
+ Experience supporting large scale construction projects and programs
+ Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering.
