Position:
Concrete Division Project Manager

The Project Manager’s primary responsibility in the concrete division is overseeing all aspects of the concrete scope for assigned projects. The project manager makes sure that all items within the concrete scope are handled, whether they delegate tasks to other parties, or perform the tasks themselves, the PM makes sure everything gets done.

Essential Functions

The following responsibilities are general guidelines and not intended to be an exhaustive list of the full scope of responsibilities of this position. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs and at managements’ discretion.

  • Oversee all Division 03 (concrete division) work related to assigned project(s).
  • Create and Maintain project schedule(s) specific to the concrete division work in order to assist in overall resource planning for the division, and also to measure progress of the job as it is unfolding.
  • Track and Manage costs for assigned project(s) and measure those costs against the estimated budget. PM will be tasked to find alternative solutions for cost savings on critical items.
  • Oversee all Submittals and RFI's to make sure they are properly tracked and processed in time to meet all schedule milestones.
  • Oversee entry level Project engineers, if the size of the project permits additional engineers to be added to that project. PM will provide direction and track the progress of PE tasks to ensure there are no delays to our crews.
  • Procure all materials required for their project(s) - PM will assign PO's, track progress of shipment, and also ensure timely payment of all materials received. PM will also be responsible to make sure all materials are onsite in a timely manner to ensure crews have what they need to perform the work at the scheduled time.
  • Assist in HCSS Heavyjob timecards - project set up and execution as the project continues. Foreman and Superintendents may need assistance in using correct task codes, submitting quantities, etc. PM will be the coordinator of those issues that come up.
  • Coordinate with our 3rd party engineers for Falsework, shoring etc. to prepare the most efficient construction methods, and make sure the submittal reflects that most efficient way that we will execute the work.
Who you are Experience
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction Project management.
  • Administrative experience: 4 years (Required)
  • Construction site: 1 year (Required)
Education
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
Software
  • Bluebeam
  • AutoCAD
  • MS Project ( or other schedule programs similar)
  • Excel
  • HCSS Heavy Bid
  • HCSS Heavyjob.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full time salary position, 50 hours per week Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM.

Hours could fluctuate depending on project time frames etc.

Physical Requirements

This is an office position and also an onsite field position combined. You will be expected to complete office work, but also to perform site visits to review and resolve issues on the jobsite. This requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials, equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less. Position also requires the ability to work in outdoor elements, operate a motor vehicle, climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces.

Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
