Fashion Fit Tailor & Eco Cleaners is seeking a dedicated and experienced Alteration Specialist. They are responsible for modifying, repairing, and tailoring garments to fit customers’ needs and preferences. They consult with clients, measure and mark clothing, and use various sewing techniques to ensure the perfect fit. Strong sewing skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service abilities are essential for this role.

• Consulting with clients:
  Understanding their alteration needs and preferences.
• Measuring and marking garments:
  Using chalk or pins to prepare for alterations.
• Sewing:
  Operating sewing machines or hand‑sewing to make alterations.
• Repairing:
  Fixing tears, damages, and adjusting hems, linings, and other details.
• Communication:
  Keeping clients informed about progress and any changes.
• Time management:
  Ensuring alterations are completed on time.
• Maintaining work area:
  Keeping the workspace clean and organized.
• Inventory management:
  Tracking sewing supplies and placing orders as needed.
• Professional appearance:
  Comply with company dress code, which may prohibit excessive display of tattoos, facial piercings, excessive ear piercings, and any unnatural hair colors.
• Support front counter team during busy periods or staff absences.
• Assist with front‑counter operations when needed to ensure smooth customer service.
• Step in at the front counter as necessary to maintain workflow and client satisfaction.

In essence, an alteration specialist combines creativity and technical skill to provide clients with perfectly fitted garments.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Formal training in sewing or tailoring:
  Courses from vocational schools, community colleges, or fashion institutes can be highly beneficial.
• Experience:
  
  Previous experience in alterations, tailoring, or a related field is often preferred.
• Knowledge of fabrics and textiles:
  Understanding different types of materials and how they behave is crucial.

• Proficient sewing skills:
  Both machine and hand sewing.
• Attention to detail:
  Precision is key in ensuring a perfect fit.
• Customer service skills:
  Ability to effectively communicate with clients and understand their needs.
