Universal Horror Unleashed is a terrifyingly unique experience that will bring haunts to Las Vegas year-round. Located at Area 15 is the heart of horror – we would love to have you haunting alongside us! With the nature of this experience comes a unique working environment. You will find yourself working in dark environments around special effects including strobe lights, fog, artificial smells, and more.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the management of all assigned project‑related wardrobe, costumes, walk‑around characters and adjacent elements. Acts as the point of contact on assigned projects, supervising any assigned staff and their workloads, vendors and consultants and determining strategies ensuring the successful completion of all tasks and/or assignments through all aspects of design and production from original concept through final installation. Liaison between various costume development stakeholders such as Universal Creative, Fabrication, Fabrication/Make‑up Vendors, and Operating Groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the teams handling daily costume issuing and maintenance within Universal Horror Unleashed (UHU). Responsible for ensuring the successful operation of UHU including show quality, guest service standards, Team Member satisfaction, cleanliness, facility upkeep, safety, training, efficiency, and budgeting. Communicate essential information about the entertainment operation to necessary parties. Partner with management counterparts.
  • Oversee the daily dress of actors performing at UHU, ensuring all costume and makeup application aligns with the standards set by final designs.
  • Oversee design and fabrication of first‑article garments & prosthetics to align and maintain creative intent. Manage procurement of all costume/wardrobe products to ensure quality and design, create and maintain vendor relationships, and manage production schedule, budget and delivery of all garments.
  • Develop new products designed for each seasonal overlay from concept through fabrication to finished costumes ready for issue. Coordinate approvals, bring concepts through all stages of viable costume/make‑up design, produce final fittings and executive presentation. Create style guides for each new costume/make‑up program or venue.
  • Manage competitive bid process to ensure relationship between quality fabrication and best prices for each costume/make‑up product. Write scopes of work, source fabrics to ensure cost‑effective and comfortable items, meet with vendors regularly to discuss quality, new options for comfort and sustainability, study industry trends and benchmark current and future products.
  • Work in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Entertainment to develop and implement the strategic plan for maintenance, enhancement and improvement of all costume and make‑up elements in use at UHU.
  • Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises an exempt team.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Required relevant state certifications including OSHA 30‑Hour.
  • Ability to obtain a Work Card.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s/Fine Arts degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years’ experience in industrial wardrobe, costume and fashion design, or costume fabrication; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
