Customer Service Specialist

Description We are looking for a bilingual Customer Service Specialist to support members in Las Vegas, Nevada within the health insurance industry. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced call center setting and can deliver compassionate, accurate assistance in both English and Spanish. The person in this role will address complex member questions, assist with claims-related matters, and work closely with internal teams to resolve benefit and eligibility concerns while maintaining a high standard of service.

Responsibilities:

- Resolve elevated member issues and service complaints with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment.

- Support claims-related inquiries and assist with processing activities by reviewing information for accuracy and completeness.

- Partner with benefits enrollment staff to investigate and address questions involving eligibility, work hours, and co-premium matters, including timely follow-up with members.

- Listen carefully to member concerns, identify underlying needs, and provide clear, practical solutions.

- Research and resolve complex or uncommon service issues by applying critical thinking and effective problem-solving skills.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health plan offerings, benefit details, and service policies to deliver accurate guidance.

- Record customer interactions, actions taken, and final resolutions thoroughly within the appropriate systems.

- Handle confidential member information in accordance with compliance standards, privacy regulations, and company policies. Requirements

- Fluency in both English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

- Previous experience in a high-volume call center environment is required, ideally within healthcare, insurance, or a similar service-focused industry.

- Hands-on knowledge of claims inquiries, claims review practices, complaints, appeals, fee schedules, and medical specialties is required.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain detailed information in a clear and empathetic way.

- Proven ability to manage multiple requests at once while maintaining accuracy and close attention to detail.

- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complicated eligibility and claims issues.

- Experience using Salesforce is preferred.

- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is preferred.
