JOB SUMMARYThis role involves working closely with clients to understand design requirements, providing architectural recommendations, and creating detailed building plans using CAD software and manual drafting techniques. The Architectural Designer must ensure all designs align with client expectations, budget constraints, industry trends, and site-specific factors. Additionally, the role includes developing project specifications, estimating costs, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Design Consultation and Requirement Gathering:
Interact with clients to collect detailed information on design requirements for building projects, including structural specifications, site location, and budget considerations. Provide expert recommendations on suitable architectural designs that align with the client's objectives, industry trends, and budgetary constraints. - Architectural Design and Drafting:
Produce detailed architectural designs and building plans using CAD tools such as AutoCAD/Revit as well as manual drafting instruments. Create designs that meet the desired requirements and expectations of the client, ensuring adherence to the project's budget and timeline. Modify existing designs based on feedback from clients or management to better align with evolving project goals. - Project Documentation and Record Keeping:
Document and maintain records of all architectural designs and other relevant project information for easy access by the Project Manager and team members. Ensure that all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and filed appropriately for future reference. - Cost Estimation and Specification Development:
Specify key details for each project, including cost estimates, materials to be used, and the assumed duration of construction. Work closely with project teams to ensure that all technical specifications and designs are feasible and align with project goals. - Technical Proficiency and Continuous Learning:
Maintain proficiency in the latest 3D design and modeling technologies, ensuring that design processes are efficient and up to industry standards. Stay updated on advancements in architectural software, including Autodesk AutoCAD/Revit to deliver cutting-edge design solutions. - Fostering Team Collaboration, Maintaining Company Culture, Continuous Learning and Development, Customer/Client Relations, Problem-Solving, Adaptability, Communication, Emotional Intelligence, Leadership, Critical Thinking, Time Management, Creativity, Resilience, Interpersonal Skills.
- Expertise in architectural design and drafting
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit and associated design software
- Strong understanding of building codes and regulations
- Experience in project planning and the development of technical specifications
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple design projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an architectural designer
- Autodesk Certification is preferred
- General Office
