The RoleThe Purchasing Experience product team owns the ‘face of affirm’, the core checkout experience for millions of affirm users.
As a Senior Product Manager on the Terms and Payments team, you will be responsible for designing both the term and payment selection experiences which drive user clarity and confidence at checkout.
An ideal candidate is one who has worked extensively on consumer experiences at key moments in the product flow.
This is a highly cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of Product, Design, Engineering, Research, and Analytics.
What You’ll Do- Own the core checkout experience where consumers select and review their terms and payments — with a focus on driving conversion, clarity, and confidence at the moment of commitment.
- Design and run experiments that improve how consumers understand and choose their terms
- Define and ship new UX patterns that change the way checkout looks and feels — using research insights, quantitative signals, and close collaboration with design and analytics to move from discovery to launch.
- Partner with Legal and Compliance to understand regulatory requirements and how they affect the user experience.
- Work alongside international product partners to expand the terms experience into new markets, adapting for local expectations while keeping the design system coherent.
- Develop a deep understanding of user behavior and share those insights broadly — helping the team and stakeholders stay grounded in how consumers actually experience checkout.
- Drive an ambitious roadmap — identify the highest-leverage opportunities, align cross-functional partners, and own execution from concept through launch and iteration.
- 5+ years of Product Management experience
- A strong sense of taste for user experience — you have opinions about what makes an interaction feel clear, considered, and delightful.
- Analytical rigor — you're comfortable digging into data, interpreting experiment results, and turning qualitative and quantitative inputs into insights and product opportunities.
- World‑class execution with high agency — you ship reliably, identify what matters without waiting to be told, and hold yourself to a high bar on quality and follow-through.
- The ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams across product, design, engineering, analytics, and research — building trust and driving alignment without relying on authority.
