Position Summary
Responsible for providing direct patient clinical care and managing medical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized, pediatric patients. The Pediatric Hospitalist is a part of the interdisciplinary team to improve efficiency and facilitate continuity of care for patients from admission to discharge. This continuum of care includes general pediatric medicine, consults as requested, and management of patients with various comorbidities.
Education and Experience- Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
- Completed an accredited three‑year pediatric residency.
- Board certified or board eligible.
- Valid medical license in the State of Nevada.
- State of Nevada Pharmacy Board license to prescribe medications and DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate.
- Certifications may include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS (American Heart Association).
Position Requirements
- Board Eligible for Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
- Pediatric clinical care, equipment, supplies and practices.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Proficiency in quality assurance and improvement principles.
- Effective communication with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to develop care plans, solve problems, and make decisions under stress.
- Computer and software competency for clinical documentation.
Mobility to work in an office setting and use standard equipment; stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for extended periods; vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen; hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone; strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
