Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pain Management Physician to join our healthcare team on a part-time basis (3 days per week). This role involves providing comprehensive care to patients suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of physiology and pain management techniques, ensuring the highest quality of care while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Duties
* Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and medical history evaluations.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for pain management, focusing on acute pain strategies.
* Perform triage duties to prioritize patient care based on severity and urgency of conditions.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and ensure continuity of care.
* Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding pain management options, including hospice care when necessary.
* Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
* Evaluate and diagnose patients with a variety of pain conditions, including musculoskeletal, neuropathic, cancer-related, and post-surgical pain.
* Develop individualized treatment plans using interventional and non-interventional techniques.
* Perform pain management procedures such as:
+ Epidural steroid injections + Nerve blocks + Radio frequency ablation + Spinal cord stimulation + Joint injections + Intrathecal pump management
* Prescribe appropriate medications in compliance with state and federal regulations.
* Coordinate care with other providers, including primary care, physical therapy, neurology, psychiatry, and orthopedic specialists.
* Educate patients and families on pain management strategies and treatment expectations.
Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and continuing education activities.## Qualifications
* Medical degree (MD or DO) with a specialization in Pain Management or related field.
* Strong knowledge of physiology and its application in pain management.
* Experience in dementia care is a plus, aiding understanding of complex patient needs.
* Proven ability in patient assessment, discharge planning, and acute pain management techniques.
* Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
* Familiarity with hospice care principles is beneficial for holistic patient support.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and research within the field of pain management.
