The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for the Assistant Professor-In-Residence position in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
Job DescriptionUNLV College of Engineering seeks a dynamic and experienced individual to join faculty in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as an Assistant Professor in Residence. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, a passion for teaching, and/or hands‑on/industry experience. The role involves teaching undergraduate courses, participating in department and college activities, and contributing to the broader academic community.
Responsibilities- Develop and teach courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering areas including Digital Logic Design I & II, Circuits I & II, Digital Systems Design and Architecture, and Senior Design capstone.
- Prepare and deliver lectures, lead discussions, and provide hands‑on instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, ABET evaluation, and other departmental activities.
- Mentor and advise students on academic and career matters.
- Participate in the department’s and college’s meetings, serve on committees, and contribute to the broader academic community.
- Minimum:
Ph.D. degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or CHEA, obtained prior to the start date. - Preferred:
Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. - Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related area.
