CAREER OPPORTUNITY
The City of Las Vegas Youth Development & Social Initiatives Department, Batteries Included Unit, is seeking qualified Adult Advisors for Batteries Included programs to work with middle and high school-aged youth.
The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list for future openings.
Supervision Received
Receives general supervision from higher-level supervisory or management staff.
SELECTION PROCESS

Final candidate selection may include a hiring interview (if applicable). Any individual offered employment will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test, complete a background check, and may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements of the job. Some positions may require preliminary background checks.
NOTE: Eligible applicants will be contacted via phone or e-mail only if moving forward to the interview process. If you are not contacted, your application will remain active for four (4) months.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform routine, mid-level work with minimal supervision; assist full-time or part-time staff or designees; support program participants with college preparation, job readiness, and leadership development.
- Maintain records on all participants, site budget, chaperone trips, and events.
- Recruit new members, attend meetings with participants or staff, and perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Two years of experience working with teens or adults in career development, leadership, life skills, and/or education.
- Course-level work in education or community outreach, or a related field, may substitute for experience.
- Experience in career development is desirable.
- Preferably employed in a CCSD High School associated with Batteries Included.
- Possess a valid Driver's License at the time of application and maintain it thereafter.
