Awaken Christian Academy is looking for Substitute Teachers to join our team.

- This is an on-call, as-needed position, substituting in the absence of a regular ACA employee.
- Teaching experience is preferred, but as a minimum, experience working with children in a structured setting.
- Must have a heart for the mission and a drive of Awaken Christian Academy/Awaken Las Vegas.
- Must be dependable, hardworking, innovative, and capable of working independently.
- Must be team-oriented: willing to follow, support, and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to learn and work quickly, efficiently, with attention to detail.
- Must be flexible; able to focus on what needs to happen to reach the goal.
- Be optimistic; see the best in others and be able to deal with problems from a solutions orientation.
- Presentation skills, to speak in front of others in an engaging and motivating way.
- Ability to take the lead or work in a supportive role; work well under the leadership of others.
- Not be easily offended.
- Must be able to act in accordance with established guidelines.
- Must be able to follow standard procedures in crisis situations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow teacher lesson plans to the best of your ability.
- Utilize prepared materials for class activities.
- Submit attendance and any behavior reports as needed.
- Enforce rules for behavior and procedures, maintaining order in the classroom.
- Communicate any questions or concerns to the administration.
- Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
