Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites applications for Coordinator/Senior Coordinator for Student Organizations.
ROLE of the POSITION
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director for Student Organizations and Fraternity & Sorority Life within the Student Involvement & Activities office, the Coordinator for Student Organizations provides continuous services, structure, guidance, and resources to support over 470 Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). The coordinator manages the RSO registration process for returning and new student organizations, oversees the operations of the Student Organization Resource Center (SORCE), and provides consultations and trainings for student leaders related to RSO functions, including accessing University resources and following University policies and applicable laws.
Responsible for all aspects of service and program coordination, including forming collaborative partnerships, risk management, marketing to appeal to a commuter student population, and ensuring services and programs are executed within budget and assessed for impact.
The Senior Coordinator has additional responsibilities to serve as the office point of contact for some elevated RSO issues, serve as a member of the Student Free Expressive Response Team, assist with reviewing and editing guiding documents such as the RSO Manual and mandatory training curriculum, and is responsible for conducting and analyzing overall RSO assessments.
Through the intentional use of student development theory and leadership theory, this position works to enhance a growing sense of community by fostering students' leadership development and appreciation for involvement in activities focused on personal growth. Ability to work some evenings and weekends required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a minimum of 2 years relevant full-time experience or 9-months relevant experience as a graduate assistant. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
Experience with student organizations and leadership development is required.
In addition, the Senior Coordinator position requires four years of relevant full-time post-bachelor's experience or two years of post-master's relevant full-time experience, and experience with advising student organizations and supervising student staff.
Required Skills, Abilities, Knowledge:
* Experience with student organizations
* Facilitate leadership training for students and/or student organizations
* Experience marketing programs and involvement to appeal to students
* Presentation skills; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; excellent interpersonal skills
* Translate student development and leadership theory and research into practice
* Form and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and faculty
* Work autonomously and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Analyze situations and develop solutions
* Value a high degree of student contact
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A master's degree is preferred.

* Experience with Engage student organization database management platform
* Event planning experience
* Effective staff supervision
* Coordinate with vendors, track expenses and execute within budget
* Assessment of student needs and outcomes

SALARY
Salary range $55,254 to $57,717 for the Coordinator Position and $61,340 to $64,346 for the Senior Coordinator position. Unable to offer more than stated salary.
