Job Description The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant/Associate Professor-in-Residence, Athletic Training, Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences, School of Integrated Health Sciences [R0151917].ROLE of the POSITION The Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences (KNS) invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor-in-Residence (non-tenure track) on a 9-month appointment. This core faculty member's primary appointment is to the CAATE-accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program, where they will teach courses.
The successful candidate will work closely with faculty, staff, and clinical partners to provide high-quality clinical experiences and academic instruction.
Primary Responsibilities:
Instruction:
Teach a variety of graduate-level athletic training courses consistent with areas of contemporary expertise.
Clinical Leadership:
Direct student clinical progression and maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence through regular site evaluations and preceptor engagement.
Mentorship & Service:
Provide quality academic advising, mentor students toward professional mastery, and participate in departmental and University committees.
Collaboration:
Work effectively within a School that serves diverse majors and functions as an integral part of the university’s general education curriculum.
As a 9-month position, summer teaching is available for additional compensation.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR-IN-RESIDENCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must hold a PhD or an equivalent doctoral degree in a related field.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of two years of university-level instructional experience and possess a record of scholarship and service contributions appropriate for the rank.
As a core faculty member dedicated to the athletic training program, the successful applicant must demonstrate the following professional credentials and experience:
Certification & Licensure:
Current certification and good standing with the Board of Certification (BOC), a valid NPI number with the appropriate healthcare designation, and possession of (or eligibility for) a state athletic training credential in good standing with the state regulatory agency.
Clinical Expertise:
Demonstrated contemporary expertise in athletic training and a history of previous clinical practice in the field.
Program Leadership:
Proven ability to provide oversight for clinical education, including the administrative and pedagogical skills necessary to direct student clinical progression and preceptor development.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR-IN-RESIDENCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must hold a PhD or an equivalent doctoral degree in a related field.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of six years of university-level instructional experience and possess a record of scholarship and service contributions appropriate for the rank.
As a core faculty member dedicated to the athletic training program, the successful applicant must demonstrate the following professional credentials and experience:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities.
Previous core faculty experience serving as Program Director or Director of Clinical Education.
Direct experience with CAATE accreditation processes, such as self-studies, annual reporting, or site visit preparation.
