PRESCHOOL AIDE:
Part‑Time Position Summary

Awaken Christian Preschool is committed to being a Christ‑centered, biblically based community serving the students and families entrusted to us. The Preschool Aide supports the classroom teacher in establishing and enforcing rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.

The Preschool Aide works in conjunction with the classroom teacher to observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. This position will model Christian beliefs, thoughts, and actions (on and off the job) to the students as they teach. The Preschool Aide shall prayerfully help students learn attributes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God.

The Preschool Aide works with the Preschool Teacher in the oversight of the academic program for Preschool students. The Preschool Aide reports directly to the Preschool Director of the school.

Essential Job Functions
  • Support the planning, supervision, and implementation of an age‑appropriate curriculum that agrees with the school philosophy and includes the total development of the child in a loving Christian atmosphere.
  • Be flexible working with staff to maintain licensing mandated child‑to‑teacher ratios at all times.
  • Keep the classroom, playground, resources, equipment, and physical environment clean and safe.
  • Assist the teacher in observing and evaluating student behavior, performance, social development, and physical health.
  • Work with teachers to prepare materials and classrooms for daily activities.
  • Collaborate with staff to plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
  • Must be capable of working independently.
  • Must be able to communicate in English orally, verbally, and written skills.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Experience

Must be at least 18 years old.

Job Qualifications
  • Must hold a minimum High School Diploma with early education experience.
  • AA in Early Education preferred.
Certification / Licensure
  • Must hold a current Sheriff’s Card or Fingerprinted Background Check.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED must be certified within 90 days of hire.

  • Must have a heart for the mission and a drive for Awaken Christian Academy.
  • Must have a strong alignment with Awaken Las Vegas.
  • Must be dependable, hardworking, innovative, and capable of working independently.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Must be team‑oriented: willing to follow, support, and collaborate with team members, and have the ability to build, develop, and lead teams.
  • Ability to learn and work quickly, and efficiently, with attention to detail.
  • Must be flexible; able to focus on what needs to happen to reach the goal.
  • Be optimistic, see the best in others, and be able to deal with problems from a biblical solution.
  • Ability to think strategically, outside the box, and be creative with strategies and ideas.
  • Work well in a supportive role, under the leadership of others.
  • Not be easily offended.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to develop processes, programs, and ideas.
  • Willing to receive input and feedback with ease, with the mindset of taking in constructive ideas in order to grow.
  • Must be able to act in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Must be able to follow standard procedures in crisis situations.
