Academic Instruction Director
Location: 8645 S. Eastern Ave STE 100 Las Vegas, NV 89123
The Academic Instruction Director provides leadership for instructional excellence across the school. This position oversees instructional coaching, coordinates the school's Response to Intervention (RTI/MTSS) framework, supports curriculum and assessment implementation, and works collaboratively with school administrators to improve student achievement. The Academic Instruction Director is responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, data analysis, professional learning, and evidence‑based instructional practices.
ResponsibilitiesInstructional Leadership
- Lead school wide efforts to improve instructional quality and student achievement.
- Supervise and support Instructional Coaches through regular meetings, goal setting, feedback, and evaluation.
- Promote effective instructional practices aligned with Nevada Academic Content Standards and school goals.
- Support teachers through instructional observations, feedback, coaching cycles, and professional learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with administrators to ensure instructional consistency across grade levels and content areas.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the school's RTI/MTSS framework.
- Coordinate intervention systems and processes to ensure students receive appropriate academic support.
- Monitor student progress data and intervention effectiveness.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, special education staff, and administrators to identify and address student learning needs.
- Lead problem‑solving teams focused on student achievement and intervention planning.
- Analyze student achievement, assessment, attendance, and engagement data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Support staff in using data to inform instructional planning and intervention decisions.
- Monitor progress toward school improvement goals and accountability measures.
- Prepare reports and presentations related to instructional performance and student outcomes.
- Design, coordinate, and facilitate professional development aligned to school goals and identified needs.
- Support new teacher induction and mentoring programs.
- Build staff capacity through ongoing coaching, collaboration, and professional learning communities.
- Promote a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, support staff, students, and families to promote student success.
- Communicate instructional priorities, initiatives, and expectations clearly and effectively.
- Participate as a member of the academic leadership team in strategic planning and school improvement efforts.
- Foster positive working relationships that support a collaborative, student‑centered culture.
- Maintain knowledge of state and charter requirements related to curriculum, assessment, accountability, and instructional programs.
- Support accreditation, school improvement planning, and accountability initiatives.
- Assist with the planning, administration, and analysis of state and local assessments.
- Participate in IEP, intervention, and student support meetings as appropriate.
- Present information during staff meetings and professional development activities.
- Participate in school, charter, and state‑provided professional development opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of school operations and student success.
- Experience in school administration and/or leading teams of professionals preferred.
- Minimum of five years successful teaching experience required.
- Experience in instructional coaching, curriculum leadership, professional development, or school administration preferred.
- Experience leading teams and supporting instructional improvement initiatives preferred.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Nevada teaching license with an administrative endorsement.
