** Assistant Professor-in-Residence, Psychology/Honors [R0152296]
**** ROLE of the POSITION
** The Honors College and the Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invite applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track teaching faculty member (Assistant Professor in Residence) to begin Fall, 2027. This position will report to both academic units and include teaching responsibilities equal to both units. The person in this position will also contribute to curriculum development, student mentorship, and other forms of college and university service.
A primary responsibility for this position is to teach HON 201 (Honors General Psychology) and 400-level honors seminars that are interdisciplinary but rooted in psychology and the candidate’s area of expertise. Another primary responsibility is the development and instruction of undergraduate courses in children’s mental health (a B.S. program in Children’s Behavioral Health Psychology has recently been developed and approved). This new program will offer courses that cover topics such as youth assessment, health promotion practices, addictions, targeted intervention practices, professional development and ethics, and inclusive practices.

The College and Department seek dynamic and enthusiastic individuals with a Ph.D. in psychology or related discipline, a commitment to undergraduate education, substantial teaching experience (including online teaching), and a willingness to work with a program coordinator for purposes of assessment and quality control.
** PROFILE of the HONORS COLLEGE
** The Honors College currently has 13 faculty-in-residence specializing in a variety of disciplines, and more than 1,200 students. Classroom sizes are maintained at approximately 20 students to ensure a small, dynamic learning experience.
** PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT of PSYCHOLOGY
** The Department of Psychology has 40 full-time faculty members, a B.A. program in Psychology, a B.S. program in Neuroscience, an APA-accredited Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology, a Ph.D. program in Psychological and Brain Sciences with cognitive, developmental, and quantitative/social/community areas of study, and is affiliated with a campus-wide interdisciplinary Neuroscience Ph.D. program.
** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
** This position requires a Ph.D. in psychology or related discipline from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and substantial teaching experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date. ABD candidates will be considered.
