Instructor, Public Safety & Human Services - Tenure Track (Fall 2026) Position Summary
The selected individual is required to teach in person, on multiple days, at our main campuses and learning or satellite centers during the morning, afternoon, and evening. The role includes development of course syllabi and materials, evaluation of mastery of student, program, and institutional learning outcomes, and participation in the development of formative and summative assessments and assessment instruments. The instructor will maintain office hours for student advisement, participate in recruitment activities, and contribute to program and curriculum development.
Attendance at School, Department, and Program meetings and activities is required. Additional duties are assigned by the Chair as needed for the office, division, and institution.
- A master's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Administration of Justice from an accredited college/university.
- Five (5) years of full‑time practitioner experience in the criminal justice profession.
- Practitioner experience within the last eight (8) years.
- Minimum of two years' full‑time teaching experience at the college level in the criminal justice discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in developing curriculum, assessment plans, formative and summative assessments, assessment instruments, and conducting analysis of course and program assessment.
- Practitioner experience within the last five (5) years.
Candidates will be required to deliver a teaching demonstration.
Starting Salary InformationInitial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full‑time equivalent teaching experience. For an instructor with a Master’s degree, the salary range would be $58,046 to $74,304 annually. The overall range extends to $89,166 annually for a Doctorate with 10 years’ experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience is considered for initial placement.
