Job Description

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a Director of Community Engagement in the School of Public Health.

The Director of Community Engagement is responsible for strategic leadership to build, sustain, and expand partnerships that advance the mission, visibility, and enrollment goals of the UNLV School of Public Health. Key duties include designing and implementing outreach and recruitment strategies to attract undergraduate and graduate students whose backgrounds, experiences, and aspirations reflect the demographic, cultural, and socioeconomic diversity of the Las Vegas metropolitan community.

The position strengthens educational pathways for individuals historically underrepresented in public health and healthcare professions and ensures that the future public health workforce is prepared to serve the diverse populations of Southern Nevada.

The Director leads the Nevada Community Health Coalition, collaborates with the Center for Health Disparities and the Nevada Institute for Children’s Research and Policy, and conducts community‐based participatory research through community engagement, education, research and service‑learning opportunities for historically underserved student and community populations.

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
• 3‑5 years of professional, management, and supervisory experience.
• Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.

• Experience with community‑based participatory research utilizing assessment, evaluation, and data analysis.
• Experience with budget management and financial accounting.
