Position: Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, Sports Media, College of Urban Affairs [R0150932]

Position Summary

The Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Sports Journalism with a focus on broadcasting and multimedia production. This role involves teaching, mentoring, and supporting students in multi‑platform sports media while also contributing to the school’s student media operations.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in sports journalism, broadcasting, and multimedia production.
  • Mentor students in reporting, announcing, anchoring, and producing sports programming both in the studio and on site at sporting events.
  • Provide guidance to student‑run programs such as the Rebel Report, an Emmy‑winning show, and Rebel Sports Net, a digital media platform.
  • Engage with college and professional sports teams to build relationships and support student projects.
Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• 3‑5 years of experience reporting, announcing, anchoring, and producing sports programs.
• Experience teaching or mentoring students is preferred.
• Prior to the beginning of the semester, all credentials must be verified.
