Business Operations Specialist, College of Urban Affairs
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Business Administration, the Business Operations Specialist is responsible for day-to-day management of scholarship, gift, and grant accounts. The position will also manage all student/faculty travel purchases and reimbursements for the College.
This position provides guidance and oversight of scholarship and gift accounts for five departments (Criminal Justice, Communications, Journalism and Media Studies, Public Policy and Leadership, and Social Work), a student advising center, KUNV Radio, UNLV-TV, as well as several centers/institutes that make up the College of Urban Affairs. This position ensures that the departments maintain clear, accurate and transparent business operations for these accounts, while providing guidance through management reporting and insight to the most efficient and effective use of all funding sources in support of the mission.
Additionally, this position works collaboratively with the UNLV Foundation and Urban Affairs Business Office.
The Business Operations Specialist supports collaborative communication and contributes to a positive work environment. They use the Urban Affairs mission and values, in addition to the UNLV mission and Campus Values, to guide their decisions and actions and demonstrate Rebel Spirit.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1-3 years of experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
Degree in Higher Education Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or related field.
