Director of Community Engagement
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites applications for a Director of Community Engagement in the School of Public Health.
Role of the Position
The Director of Community Engagement provides strategic leadership for building, sustaining, and expanding partnerships that advance the mission, visibility, and enrollment goals of the UNLV School of Public Health (SPH). A central responsibility of this position is to design and implement outreach and recruitment strategies that attract undergraduate and graduate students whose backgrounds, experiences, and aspirations reflect the demographic, cultural, and socioeconomic diversity of the Las Vegas metropolitan community.
The Director plays a critical role in strengthening educational pathways for individuals historically underrepresented in public health and healthcare professions and in ensuring that the future public health workforce is prepared to serve the diverse populations of Southern Nevada. In addition, the Director of Community Engagement will support and provide leadership to the Nevada Community Health Coalition, and collaborate with the Center for Health Disparities and the Nevada Institute for Children's Research and Policy;
conducting community based participatory research through community engagement, education, research and service-learning opportunities for historically underserved student and community populations.
Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a Master's degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 3-5 years of professional, management and supervisory experience.
