.

Role of the Position

The Program Manager of the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) supports the Director and advances undergraduate research as a high‑impact educational practice to improve student success. The position will work with the Director on projects and collaborate across campus to expand, support, coordinate, and highlight undergraduate research.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Centralization of data collection on undergraduate research.
  • Development of infrastructure to support and reward undergraduate research.
  • Coordination of university‑wide research symposia and other research student programming.
  • Assistance in generating grant proposals and raising funds for undergraduate research.
  • Administration of undergraduate research awards.
  • Support for OUR publicity through website updates and social media.
  • Development of pipelines to recruit outstanding students to UNLV undergraduate programs.

This role is a key member of the OUR and AVPUEHIP leadership team, collaborating with Academic Affairs colleagues to promote enrollment, student success, innovation, and inclusive education. The position may require evening, weekend work, occasional travel, and adherence to institutional policies and state laws.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with academic research (undergraduate or graduate level) in the humanities or STEM.
  • 3+ years of program management experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience with academic research (undergraduate or graduate level) in the humanities or STEM.
  • 5+ years of program management experience.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience seeking grant funding.
