The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Professor, Political Science, International Relations [R0150158].
Role of the PositionThe Department of Political Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applicants for a full-time, nine‑month tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in International Relations. The candidate should specialize in international security, conflict processes, or human rights. The position will commence in fall 2026. Successful candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in International Relations, deliver the undergraduate culminating‑experience course in which students undertake a research project, and may contribute to the department’s political methodology course offerings.
Additional responsibilities include conducting research leading to scholarly peer‑reviewed publications, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and providing departmental, college, and university service. The potential to obtain research funding will be considered a plus. The department seeks candidates whose research, teaching, or service experience prepares them to support an inclusive academic environment.
- Earned doctorate in Political Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Evidence of research productivity and the ability to develop a research agenda that yields high‑quality publications.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Advanced degree in a related field (ADB) candidates will be considered.
