Academic Advisor, Lee Business School [R0146013]

As an academic advisor in UNLV’s Lee Business School Undergraduate Advising office, this individual is part of a team of professionals who work in support of the college’s and university’s missions. An essential part of this is to provide information and guidance to students to assist them in defining and achieving their educational and life goals while adhering to university and college academic requirements and standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participating in recruiting events.
  • Providing academic guidance to students via appointments, e‑mail, presentations, information sessions.
  • Providing students with resource referrals to other campus offices as needed.
  • Creating, editing, and disseminating information for handouts, website, catalog, etc.
  • Reviewing and processing paperwork students submit for review.
  • Maintaining relationships with colleagues on campus and at other Nevada System of Higher Education institutions.
  • Maintaining relationships with the college’s department chairs and faculty.
  • As needed, serve as an informational resource to the college’s deans, department chairs, faculty and staff regarding academic policies and administrative procedures.
  • Participate in UNLV’s Academic Advising Council.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and one year of related professional experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree preferred.
