Part-Time Psychology Instructor
The College of Southern Nevada is seeking part-time instructors to teach Psychology courses in an on-ground format only. Online instruction is not available for this position. Teaching assignments will primarily include introductory-level Psychology courses (e.g., PSY 101), with potential assignments in other Psychology courses based on departmental needs. Courses will be taught at the North Las Vegas, West Charleston, and/or Henderson campuses.
Multi-campus teaching may be required to meet departmental needs. Class assignments may be scheduled during the day, evening, and/or weekends. Applicants must reside in the Las Vegas Valley or surrounding areas, as this position requires in-person instruction only.
Core Responsibilities:
- Teach live, on-campus Psychology courses in support of the Psychology Associate of Arts Degree and general education requirements.
- Develop syllabi and course materials in accordance with college and department policies.
- Utilize department-selected textbooks and teach established course objectives.
- Evaluate student mastery of course outcomes and required competencies.
- Assess student performance in alignment with departmental and institutional assessment guidelines.
- Provide students with syllabi that meet college, department, and program requirements.
- Maintain accurate records, submit grades, and communicate with department and college personnel in accordance with established procedures.
- Complete required assessment activities and related documentation.
- Multi-campus teaching may be required based on departmental needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related discipline.
- College-level teaching experience in Psychology or related courses.
- Experience using CANVAS or other learning management systems.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Salary: $925.00 per credit hour. Courses/Credits assigned may vary by semester. Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.
