Public Speaking Instructor

Core Responsibilities

Teach public speaking course content.
Evaluate student performances.
Administer department exams.
Post information to Learning Management Software (CANVAS).
Complete assessment assignments.
Teach research skills, outline writing and oral communication skills.
Submit semester documents including, but not limited to, syllabus, exams, grade books, attendance, and participation rosters.
Willingness to teach courses in-person at multiple campus locations.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Communication Studies.
Experience teaching public speaking.
15 credits of graduate coursework in Communication Studies OR equivalent terminal degree with experience in public speaking/oral communication coursework.

Preferred Qualifications

30 credits of Communication Studies coursework.
Two years' experience teaching public speaking.

Salary Information

$925 per instructional unit

Exempt Yes Full-Time Equivalent 48.8%
