Position: On-Site ELA Teacher, Game Changers Sports Academy (NV)

On-Site Ela Teacher, Game Changers Sports Academy (NV)

Edmentum is a dynamic educator and student-focused company dedicated to tech-enabled learning solutions. Our goal is to ensure that all students have access to flexible learning environments and educators have the tools they need to support their students. We are a remote first organization with a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

This is not your average teaching role. As an on-site teacher with the Game Changers Sports Academy, you will be a full-time core subject teacher fully embedded in a one-of-a-kind Las Vegas academic program built for middle school student-athletes who are balancing serious coursework with elite athletic training. You will be present, visible, and impactful every single day, bringing structure, rigor, and energy to a community that is shaping the next generation of scholar-athletes.

You will not just teach content; you will help build the academic culture that makes Game Changers extraordinary.

As an on-site teacher, you will be a member of Edmentum's Apex Learning Virtual School. Apex Learning Virtual School is an accredited, fully online K–12 private school that delivers standards-aligned curriculum to students nationwide and internationally. ALVS provides a flexible, asynchronous learning environment supported by state-certified teachers who deliver instruction, monitor student progress, provide individualized feedback, and maintain regular communication with students and families.

The school emphasizes data-driven instruction, mastery-based learning, and student engagement through digital tools and virtual support. ALVS instructors play a critical role in ensuring academic integrity, progress monitoring, and a high-quality, student-centered online learning experience.

As part of the Edmentum ALVS faculty, your total instructional load combines onsite GCSA instruction with ALVS virtual course sections—with the balance shifting toward GCSA students as the program grows.

In this role you will:

  • Lead full-day, in-person instruction in your assigned core subject area (English/Language Arts), facilitating large-group lessons, individual pull-out sessions, and proctored assessments within a rotating block schedule that balances academics with athletic training. Fulfill ALVS virtual course assignments as part of your total instructional load, with the GCSA cohort counting toward—not on top of—the standard ALVS teacher capacity of up to 275 enrollments and/or 15 hours of live instruction per week.
  • Harness student performance data to differentiate instruction, monitor academic progress, maintain accurate records, and drive meaningful growth for every student in your cohort.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with students, families, and program staff through consistent, professional, and responsive communication.
  • Show up fully for the Game Changers culture: travel monthly with your student cohort to off-site leadership program sessions, participate in tri-weekly program resets, and model the values that define this community every day.
  • Operate as a compliant, professional Edmentum educator on site, meeting all Nevada-specific requirements that protect the students in your care and uphold the integrity of the program.

You hold a Bachelor's degree and an active Nevada state teaching license, with at least three years of in-person classroom teaching experience. You are energized by non-traditional academic settings where every day brings a different instructional challenge and an opportunity to make a real impact. You are skilled at managing multiple instructional formats at once, including parallel sessions and one-on-one pull-outs, in shared classroom spaces without missing a beat.

You have a strong command of differentiated instruction and data-driven practice, and you use both to meet middle school learners exactly where they are. You are a clear, confident communicator who builds genuine relationships with students, families, and colleagues alike. You are comfortable traveling on a monthly basis to off-site program events as a regular part of your role. You take compliance seriously: you are prepared to complete Nevada Livescan and FBI fingerprinting, maintain NRS 432B mandated-reporter certification, and adhere to all educator conduct and safety standards.

You are proficient in Microsoft Office and open to learning digital learning platforms and instructional tools used in the program. You are a collaborative team player who steps up to support colleagues, covers when needed, and contributes to a culture of shared accountability. You are deeply committed to the success of student-athletes and believe in the power of consistent, caring adult presence to change young people's trajectories.

You are willing to take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.

A culture that values flexibility and trust. A mission-driven team obsessed with improving education for all students. Growth…
